The use of the Internet in Egypt as a platform for political activism has been the topic of discussion in various political circles and in the media.
Bloggers have come under the spotlight when they started to expose and bring to public attention cases of human rights violations and physical abuse against detainees in police stations. Others have been expressing their political views, which are quite critical of the government and the policies of the state as a whole.
They have managed to grab the attention of the media at home and human rights and media freedom organizations abroad. read more »

تنظم tactical tech بالتعاون مع نخبة من النشطاء و الباحثين معسكر تدريبي بعنوان info activism في الفترة من 19 الى 25 فبراير 2009 بالهند.
المعسكر فرصة للتعرف على أفضل وسائل جمع و تطويع المعلومات للتعبئة و الدعوة الى القضايا الحقوقية و الاستفادة من تكنولوجيا الاتصالات و المعلومات في تنظيم الحملات. يشارك بالمعسكر 120 ناشط و باحث و خبير معلوماتي من جميع أنحاء العالم سيتم اختيارهم من ضمن مئات المتقدمين.
المعسكر محاولة لبلورة منهج جديد في استخدام المعلومات للتعبئة عن طريق أنشطة غير منهجية و تشارك في الخبرات في جو ممتع، لا مجال في المعسكر للمحاضرات و أساليب التدريب التقليدية.
