Shobeir's Fight in The Parliament
The MB MP was accusing Shobeir of playing a suspicious role in Tanta flex strike crisis for the favor of the Saudi investor , he only told him that his role was suspicious and suddenly he found himself in front of a mad man calling him all kind of names jumping over the table in order to attack him physically. MP Hamden Sabhi saved the day by standing between them.

The High Dam : A Bless Or A Curse
Hopefully insh Allah this will not be the last post about the high dam jubilee
Last January 15th 2010 Egypt has celebrated the jubilee of launching the high dam aka Aswan Dam construction in 1960. Unfortunately we did not celebrate it as it should because of the heavy rains that hit Aswan. We were supposed to have more celebrations especially that three countries are participating in the event : Egypt , Russia "for its huge support" and Syria 'as we were one country then'. It is great anniversary for sure and it is sad that younger generations do not know or understand its importance or its controversy. read more »

Old Retweets won't Die
Such scenario worked really fine with the old manual retweeting system, but now with the new retweeting button, our names are removed from the heart of the tweets, and are replaced with a tiny picture at the bottom of the tweet, that no one cares to look at or click on it.

Automatically populating YouTube playlist upon new Embedded Video Field submission
Here's a little action I wrote recently, to automatically populate a specific YouTube playlist as new videos are being posted to a Drupal site, using modules Trigger or Rules. The same concept can also be used retroactively on existing content, using Views Bulk Operations: select all existing video nodes and apply the action to them.

The "Hala Mustafa" case uncovers the hypocrisy of the Egyptian media establishment
Here's how the story goes: Hala Mustafa, long time journalist and editor-in-chief of the 'Democracy' review issued by Al-Ahram - the chief government mouthpiece - meets with the Israeli ambassador, Shalom Cohen (can his name be any more caricaturally Israeli?:) for a routine discussion - about organising a panel discussion with Egyptian and Israeli academics, on the peace process or what have you. A routine, organisational meeting.
