كلنا بنتفرج على غزة، ومش عجبنا إلي بيحصل وبنشوف مناظر الشهداء و بنعيات و منعرفش ننام بالليل من كتر ما ضميرنا وجعنا اننا مش عارفين نعملهم حاجة... لكن ممكن نحاول نعمل حاجة بجد؟
أنا حاولت في التدوينة ده أقول الناس ممكن تعمل إيه.. أكيد كل واحد فينا ممكن يعمل حاجة.. حاولت أفكر و أحط البدائل اللي ممكن تنسب أي حد..ازاي تساعد غزة؟

compiz and metacity fight to be "compositing manager" in debian lenny
After I managed to run my X fine after my last problem with Xorg configurations, I had apt-getted compiz fusion. After it has run few times ok, It just stopped running, when i try to start it using compiz --replace I get the following error:
/usr/bin/compiz.real (core) - Error: Could not acquire compositing manager selection on screen 0 display ":0.0" /usr/bin/compiz.real (core) - Fatal: No manageable screens found on display :0.0
debian lenny, Xorg 7.3, and xorg.conf
I had problems after I installed debian lenny on my laptop, After some digging in the system I found that debian lenny now includes Xorg 7.3 , there's something that made me really lost regarding it, that it simply doesn't use the file /etc/X11/xorg.conf .. actually i didn't find it on my system. So - as I'm used to - issued the configuring command
dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorgand I was really surprised that the configurations was only for input devices (keyboard), and the generated xorg.conf was such a lame, contains only the following:

I've been promoted to be an admin in Egypt Gnu/Linux User Group as was discussed in this thread.. It was really nice to be promoted by the community without even requesting it, this community where i first learned what's free software and what's GNU, who made linux and what's the open source movement. read more »
